Upcoming Event: Activist – Academic Roundtable

Following the success of the network’s first unofficial event, the Trans* Thresholds roundtable at MOLI in May 2023, the Activist-Academic roundtable seeks to initiate conversation about the (porous) boundaries between trans activism and trans academia. It asks how we may work in coalition with one another, and focuses on ways to deploy institutional power and analysis alongside activist goals. It acknowledges the necessary tension between grassroots organisation and institutional functions, and seeks to discuss these tensions in a productive and generative space. The Trans Research Association of Ireland will officially launch at this event, with a complete CFP for the symposium later in the year.
