In May 2023, PhD students Taylor Follett (UCD) and Caleb O’Connor (UCD) hosted a roundtable at the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI), entitled \u201cCrossing Trans Thresholds: Negotiating the distance between trans theory and praxis in the Irish academy\u201d. This panel facilitated a discussion between three scholars working in trans* \u00a0studies in Ireland, Dr El Reid-Buckley, Dr Matt Kennedy, and Robin Steve. The conversation that arose at this panel and the following reception were the impetus for this network, as they made the need for a dedicated trans research network in Ireland evident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
