On October 15th 2022, I helped to organise Broadside Extra: news, songs and provocations in the history of cheap print and street literature<\/em>. <\/a>This free one-day conference was a joint endeavour with the Traditional Song Forum<\/a> and the Centre for Critical Media Literacy<\/a> at TU Dublin, supported by Poetry Ireland<\/a>, An G\u00f3il\u00edn Traditional Singers, and the Irish Traditional Music Archive<\/a>. I was honoured to co-chair with Steve Roud, the renowned ballad scholar and the man behind the Roud index of folk songs.
