Drinking Studies: Cultures and Methodologies Workshop, 2026

Organised by Lucy Cogan (“Drinking Cultures” project, UCD), Dorota Dias-Lewandowska (“Boundaries of Drinking” project, Polish Academy of Sciences PAN), and Dan Malleck (Brock University), the Drinking Studies: Cultures and Methodologies Workshop was held in the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI) from 30 June to 2 July. Bringing together some of the most interesting interdisciplinary perspectives in drinking studies, the workshop examined the ways drinking is discussed in current debates, and how we can advocate for the value of historical and cultural perspectives to influence discussions in a meaningful way.
